Due to this continued development of our Pension service a vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Pensions Manager in the Pensions Department. This is a demanding role, which will require maintaining and deepening client relationships, giving special focus to the personal needs of amongst others the cadre of International Managers of the Group.


The role:


  • To assist in the management and administration of a portfolio of Retirement Benefit Funds for Retired International Managers of the Group whose Benefit Funds consist of a variety of investment vehicles as permitted in the Retirement Benefit Fund Investment Guidelines.
  • Provide support, advice, training and coaching to team members.
  • Assist Manager, Pensions to manage and control a group of high value Final Salary and Money Purchase Pension Funds and a Free Standing Additional Voluntary Contribution Fund by providing a quality trustee and administration service.  Acting in a totally independent and impartial capacity  to safeguard the benefits of members.
  • Co-ordinating day to day administration functions to ensure established deadlines are met.
  • Assisting in deputising Manager, Pensions absence to ensure the smooth running of the pension schemes in accordance with their Trust Deed and Rules, including dealing with enquiries and requests from Senior executives and their widows, such matters frequently being of a complex and highly delicate and sensitive nature by resolving requests in a sympathetic and confidential manner, where necessary liasing with GHQ Senior Management.
  • Ensure full understanding of Clients needs and objectives
  • Provide high quality and professional advice to clients on all financial aspects and instruments
  • In accordance with Private Client profile, actively promote both Group and approved investment products.
  • Develop investment strategies together with the client.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • Minimum 4/5 years’ Trust experience
  • Dedication to quality service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong team player who reacts well under pressure.
  • Self motivated, diligent, with good attention to detail
