Client Relationship Manager Print E-mail

This person will be responsible for a portfolio of high value, blue chip clients, potentially covering the spectrum of the divisions’ service lines (share plans / international pensions plans / deferred compensation plans / employee benefit trusts). The relationship manager will be the prime point of contact for these clients and will be responsible for maintaining and developing the existing relationships as well as actively seeking new opportunities to provide additional employee benefit and wealth management services to them. In addition this person will be a prime point of contact for clients’ advisors and other key targeted advisors and will again be responsible for maintaining and developing these relationships.
This person will also be actively involved in developing new business opportunities in order to meet annual divisional targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fiduciary responsibility for the portfolio.
  • Maintaining a programme of regular client service visits.
  • Maintaining a programme of regular advisor service visits.
  • Proactively helping clients to plan for forthcoming key events (annual contributions / exercises / vestings etc).
  • Project managing the implementation of new client plans / projects.
  • Ensuring consistent high quality service delivery from other units within the division (via regular liaison with relevant management teams).
  • Responding to / investigating client queries.
  • Managing regular investment performance review process to ensure all clients in the portfolio are holding appropriate investments.
  • Maximising income from the portfolio.
  • Reviewing fee agreements and renegotiating as appropriate in light of current services delivered.
  • Liaising with intermediaries to identify opportunities for new work.
  • Liaising with Private Banking Team / other in-house specialists to ensure that plan participants have access to a full range of  services.
  • Preparing proposal documents for tender.
  • Presenting services at industry events.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Hold relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICSA / ACCA).
  • Excellent client handling skills - experience of dealing with corporate clients advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal documents (trust deeds etc.).
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex company / trust structures.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Completer/finisher - ability to see tasks through to the end.
  • Excellent presentational skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Willingness to work longer hours when required.
  • Flexible.
  • Motivation of others.
  • Competent IT skills with sound knowledge of spreadsheet / database use.
