To provide a full HR service to the management and staff of specific business groups in an active and demanding role. The individual will be responsible for providing a broad consultancy service that assists in achieving the most effective use of staff resources, to meet business plans and strategies. To contribute specialist skills within the Human Resources team in support of other team members, to enable overall achievement of HR objectives.
Responsibilities:Act as HR Business Partner, working closely with business leaders and management teams to achieve full knowledge and understanding of business group plan and strategies. Act as HR contact, providing full local HR Business Partner support to the business and communicate effectively with functional business partner to enable assimilation of full cross-island knowledge of business. Ensure onward communication of plans to other members of HR team for effective provision of specialist services plus sharing of knowledge and experience, together with coaching and mentoring of new HR staff and contractors as appropriate. Recruit and select staff to meet required and approved FTE levels. Provide full consultancy and HR development services to management and staff on employee relations issues eg: Grievance and disciplinary issues Capability and performance issues Absence and sickness management Reporting Policy and procedure Ad-hoc projects Act as liaison point for benefits information and support Provide management and / or specialist skills to the HR team and management and contribute effectively to the two-way communication process necessary across the business Knowledge and Skills Required:A sound knowledge of HR management principles and practice, ideally backed by a minimum of five years HR management/administration experience. Excellent communication skills including those of recruitment. Ability to work with senior management in a strategic HR context. A formal qualification with IPD/CIPD or similar or ability and interest in achieving such. A sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements within the industry and Channel Island environment. Flexible, adaptable and good team work approach/ethic. Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
